Just Rewards

How violent the travail
When truth is finally uncovered
Evil deeds made manifest
When the guilty are discovered

They spew vile rhetoric
False witness do they bare
Lies fall from their very lips
Without hardly ever a care

In darkness they will work
Their secret combinations
Within them is no light
Just sheer abominations

But wherever light does shine
The darkness all must flee
Whether it comes from above
From you or comes from me

Apologies make you none
For speaking only truth
Never to retreat
I learned it from my youth

It has always been evil vs. good
Or darkness against light
Just ignore the many temptations
And only choose the right

No, it isn’t easy
Yes, God understands
Rewards are for the righteous
For evil, He remands
