Lift Us Higher

How mine heart weeps
For those who ignore
His words of comfort and truth
To this I implore

What does this mean
I said up above
His words of great truth
His acts of great love

Seek safe refuge
Away from the storm
Though doing what’s right
Is rarely the norm

The ways of the world
It’s glitter it can blind
Can cause us to stumble
And is often unkind

May thy heart be still
And also thy mind
His commandments protect
His covenants will bind

He knows what all we need
And also our every desire
He wants to protect us all
He wants to Lift Us Higher
